Join the Prayer Shawl Group if you love to knit or crochet and want to use your God-given talent to create a garment of love, comfort, and healing for others. Beginners welcome! We will teach you to knit. It is very basic and easy to learn. Comfort shawls are given to patients and family members who are experiencing a difficult time and are in need of comfort and healing. They may also be given in celebration. There are no specific criteria and the shawls are given to let the receivers know they are not alone and to provide them with a sense of God’s peace and healing. WHAT WE WILL DO: • Knit or crochet prayer shawls on our own, at our own pace or as a group. • Obtain from the group coordinators yarn and needles, or use your own supplies as part of your gift. • As we create our shawls, we pray that God will bless the work of our hands and allow our shawls to provide comfort to people in need. • Once completed, our shawls are kept by the coordinators to be distributed as needed. • Shawls are distributed by the Prayer Shawl Group coordinators, the Pastor, Elders or others as appropriate during visits to homes, hospitals or other care facilities. • We want to thank you so very much for taking the time to make Living Vine Prayer Shawls. We cannot express to you how much they are so appreciated. Many have said that they use prayer shawls daily to help them make it through the day and we are pleased to have created it! SIGN UP at the Connection Desk or talk to Anna Maria or Patty if you are interested in joining our group!
